ChemCologne activities

ChemCologne is the network of the Rhineland chemical industry, used as a platform for exchanging views by numerous chemical industry firms, chemical-related service providers, associations, authorities, organisations, and academic and educational institutions. As a powerful chemical industry network, it is ChemCologne's ambition to market the Rhineland chemical industry, within Germany and abroad, as Europe's strongest chemical region. Active exchange within the network and location marketing help  promote competitiveness within the chemical region. Regular events are used to showcase ChemCologne's success.

ChemCologne Chemicals Forum

The chemicals forum is one of ChemCologne's most important events. Held every two years, in the Bayer Communication Centre in Leverkusen, each chemicals forum deals with a specific theme. Around 200 domestic and foreign representatives of the industry, authorities, administration, trade associations, and media take part. The event has become one of the most important of its kind, with a programme consisting of presentations and panel discussions on specific topics of current interest for the ChemCologne region.

ChemCologne cooperation day

Once a year, the ChemCologne cooperation day takes place at one of the region's universities. It is also aimed at students, and its main purpose is to intensify the exchange between academic institutions and the economy. Examples of successful cooperation between universities and the industry are demonstrated in a programme of lectures concluded by a panel discussion. Chemical and chemical-related companies of the ChemCologne region have the opportunity to introduce themselves during an accompanying fair exhibition. Universities, associations and institutions are also invited to participate in the exhibition with their own information desks.

Visitors have the opportunity to...
•    inform themselves on relevant applied research topics
•    exchange views with scientists and other company representatives during breaks
•    discover entry-level career opportunities
•    receive information on current job vacancies via a job noticeboard
•    participate in a panel discussion and ask questions
•    organise further cooperation

ChemCologne hosted by…

The “ChemCologne hosted by...” network meetings generally take place three times per year. Any  ChemCologne member can arrange a network meeting. During the 3-hour event, the host has the opportunity to introduce their company or organisation regarding a relevant topic. This usually takes the form of a talk and/or site tour. The concluding get-together encourages further networking amongst participants. These events are exclusively reserved for association members or those interested in joining.

Investor seminars

ChemCologne works in close cooperation with national business development agency Germany Trade & Invest and federal business development agency NRW.INVEST. In cooperation with these partners and its members, ChemCologne gives presentations abroad. Seminars take place in the residing countries of potential investors, in order to present the Rhineland chemical region as an investment opportunity in their home country.

Exchanging experience/Workshop

ChemCologne offers members individual event formats at irregular intervals. The topics and number of participants vary. Member companies that wish to exchange views on a certain topic can use ChemCologne as a platform for this. Like the network meetings, these events are also exclusively for members and those interested in joining.
