Qualified Personnel

The Rhineland chemical industry is comprised of a variety of highly qualified and motivated employees. The companies  not only train young people in scientific professions, but also in fields such as engineering, economics, computer science and gastronomy. In total, the ChemCologne region provides almost 50 qualified professions, including laboratory and production jobs, metal-working and electrical jobs, and positions within commercial, IT and gastronomy. Many chemical enterprises in the Rhineland offer the opportunity to combine an apprenticeship with a bachelor's degree. There are approximately 20 dual study courses in the fields of economics, engineering, science and computer science.

Further professional training plays a vital role within the chemical industry. Companies acquaint their staff with the ever-changing challenges of the industry, thereby ensuring a high standard of qualification. Regional further education institutes, such as the Rhein-Erft-Akademie, the TÜV Rheinland Akademie, and the Currenta Akademie, offer regional companies tailored educational programmes.

Moreover, the large number of universities in the region offer a broad range of degree courses. Aside from natural science, students are also educated in engineering, economics and  information sciences. There are more than 40 different degree courses on offer within the region, including scientific, technical, and economic subjects, which can be completed as a bachelor's or master's degree, or, in many subjects, as a doctorate.
